Rich Ward, Owner

I have been a CrossFit athlete for 11 years and a CrossFit coach at CFLO for the past 3 and half years.  I love helping people and working with them to achieve their personal goals.  I love the community of CrossFit and that is the biggest reason my wife and I purchased the Gym in February of 2021.   Amy and I believe in this community and excited to see it grow year after year.

Jean Thorson, Head Coach

Jean brings passion, fire, and energy to the gym floor. One of her favorite motivations as a coach is taking someone from a beginner’s level and helping them discover that anything is possible. She believes in hard work, determination, and a never-give-up mentality to accomplishing goals. And at the young age of 40-something, she will remind you that age is just a number. She discovered CrossFit in 2010, thanks to a friend who encouraged her to check it out. After four years of playing around with the sport at CFLO, she was encouraged to take it to the next level and get back into the arena of competing and coaching. She enjoyed being a part of the Invictus Master’s Athlete community since 2016, with her greatest accomplishments of placing 4th at the 2016 Granite Games Masters 40-44 division, participating in the 2015-2017 CrossFit Master Qualifier 40-44 division, and being a member on the 2015 and 2017 CrossFit Wilsonville West Regional team. Jean is a Certified CrossFit Trainer (Level 3), ACE Certified Personal Trainer, and has attended several seminars along the way. She has been a part of the CrossFit coaching staff at CrossFit Wilsonville, Invictus Fitness San Diego, and Nike World HeadQuarters. Born and raised in Oregon, her life was structured around family and sports. With a father who loved to be active and an older brother to lead the way, she spent the majority of her childhood playing sports year-round. After hanging up her softball cleats at the University of Washington in 1992, she started coaching high school softball, with her last position being the head coach at Lakeridge High School from 2009 to 2012. After several years working in the dental field, she made a flip and started a career in massage therapy – thus leading to a passion for body movement and overall wellness. She is happily married to her husband, Eric, of 23 years. They stay busy traveling and discovering new golf courses and CrossFit gyms wherever they go.

Rob Bozada

Rob Bozada is a NIKE Trainer at NIKE World Headquarters in Oregon, USA. He is a Human performance Optimization expert that specializes in joint and tissue mobility protocols, strength, speed and power development, neuromuscular coordination patterning, the psychology behind success, and overall enhancement of the human experience. Bozada is also the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach of the men’s gymnastics team at the largest indoor athletic club in the world, the exclusive Multnomah Athletic Club. He has trained elite, professional athletes from several sports, including 4 x CrossFit Games Champion Mat Fraser and NBA phenom LeBron James. He is a published author, Athlematics- Quantifying Athleticism, and has conducted specialty seminars both domestically in the US as well as internationally. Bozada has created his own certification process, which launched in February of this year (2020) throughout Italy.

Bozada Performance Systems will conduct this event twice per year from now on throughout Italy. The certification process is composed of three levels; each focusing on imperative, dynamic principles of coaching, training, and optimization of one’s performance. The first level focuses on breath work and mindset; as well as how both of these interface with the nervous system, and unlock untapped potential. From there, these principles are applied to increasing one’s mobility and movement quality. Level two and three increase in complexity; offering more elaborate details regarding performance, nutrition, and the aspects of life that potentiate our sense of well-being and health. Whether you are looking to rehabilitate, rest and recover, fuel your inner athlete through positive psychology, gain strength or lose weight, live a pain-free, capable life with access to your full movement potential, or wanting to compete against the most

Jo Downing

Hey there! My name is Jordan Downing but you can call me Jo. I am an honest reflecting strength and lifestyle coach who defines my own success,  as seeing YOU reach your goals. I believe there is no shortcut for hard work, and you can count on me to always bring the energy to our sessions. I like to use a holistic approach with my clients that includes emphasis on diet, sleep, social wellness/relationships, and all other external factors that contribute to an individual's lifestyle. After all, it is the lifestyle that ultimately garnishes the results we wish to see and feel.  I believe the gym is a great mechanism for life, that checks our ego, and connects our mind to body in a way that brings about numerous benefits.  

 

As a former collegiate football player and athlete of all sorts,  I know how hard work and a commitment to excellence can take you to the next level.  Whether your goal is to increase lean muscle, alleviate nagging pains, reduce unwanted weight or make the starting roster, I want to be the one that guides your journey. When it is time to put the work in, custom program design is one of my favorite hobbies. What are you wanting to achieve? I want to build a roadmap for you.

Sophia Sedlar

Sophia is a strength and conditioning coach specializing in the development of young athletes and women’s strength training. Certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, which has set the standard in certification, continuing education, and sports performance, Sophia helps each of her clients unearth their strength and crush their goals; “My coaches changed the trajectory of my life - as an athlete, and in my personal life - and now, that’s what I hope to be able to do with my clients”.  Don’t be fooled by the ever-present smile, her favorite mantra she instills in her clients is: “No one outworks you”. The effort is one factor that is within everyone’s control, and it’s the backbone of her training, lifestyle and nutrition philosophy, and coaching.
